How it began?
- Back in 1994, BestBuy was the trading division of Eastinvest (pvt) Ltd. Thereafter commenced its trading activities under the entity of BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd
- Commencing its operations in the year 1994, as a trading division of Eastinvest. Almost 12 years down the line, BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd, has improved on the reliable service that it provides its customers and has also added well reputed distributorships along the way.
- BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd, has made its mark in the field of trading and distributorship, as one of the most well-known and well reputed business organizations in the Maldives.
BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd is a major supplier to resorts. It currently caters to over 75% of the resorts, marketing over 200 different items
- Singer has touched the lives of millions of satisfied customers, for over 100years, with Singer sewing machines. BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd made no mistake in making Singer sewing machines, to its first sole distributorship. This commenced in the year 1994.
- 1995 - BestBuy was appointed the sole distributor for ICI Dulux, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of paint.
- April 2000 , saw the addition of yet another distributorship; that of Ireks GMBH of Germany – one of the most reputed brands of bread pre mixes.
- 2001 – BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd was awarded the distributorship for Kodak Products. BestBuy are now the reputed suppliers of the best of Kodak products, to most resorts in the Maldives and to major dealers of photographic material.
- March 2002 – BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd was appointed as sole distributor for Unilever Best Foods, later renamed as Unilever Food Solutions.
- May 2003 – BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd was appointed as the sole distributor for the full range of Unilever Personal Care Products.
- June 2003 – Renuka Cocoa Lands (Pvt) Ltd – Sri Lanka, appointed BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd as its distributor for coconut milk products to the Maldives.
- In the first quarter of 2004, Lanka Canneries Limited, manufacturer of MD products, one of Sri Lanka’s Leading exporter of processed agricultural products. joined the wide ranging list of distributorships, which fall within the ambit of BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd
- Most recently, in early 2006, Maliban Biscuits joined BestBuyMaldives (Pvt) Ltd, to distribute Maliban biscuits to the Maldives.
- Chubbsafes - BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd in addition to all other sole distributorships, has Chubbsafes, as a part of its product portfolio.
- Caffe Camardo - a new coffee blending and roasting facility, which is one of the latest additions, to the BestBuy Maldives (Pvt) Ltd sole distributorship portfolio.
- Lanka Thermo commenced operation on 3rd quarter of year 2006
